>Accommodation

We help all students from abroad in their search for suitable accommodation.

Most students want to stay in Maastricht. Maastricht is the most international city in South Limburg and the city that Zuyd University has situated most of its international courses in. There are several hundreds of foreign students in Maastricht.
Students studying in Network Infrastructure Design in Heerlen or Information Management in Sittard usually prefer living in Maastricht and travelling to Heerlen or Sittard. Easy, because there are good public transport links between all three cities and the distance between the three cities is about 20 km.

If your course is Network Infrastructure Design and you want to live in Heerlen, we will assist you in finding accommodation on request.

If your course is Information Management and you want to live in Sittard, we will assist you in finding accommodation on request.

If your course is Communication & Multimedia Design in Maastricht, or if you study in Heerlen or Sittard but want to live in Maastricht, we offer you accommodation in the Romaes Avant Garde facility or in the Teikyo facility. Both their websites are in Dutch, but they do contain pictures. We first place students in the Romaes Avant Garde facility; if all rooms are full, we place you in Teikyo.

Please note:

  • You will have a room of your own; double rooms are available on request.
  • All rooms are furnished and come with a weekly change of linen.
  • Avant Garde rooms have private bathrooms; Teikyo rooms have basins with hot and cold water.
  • In Avant Garde you share kitchens with other students; in Teikyo you share bathrooms and kitchens.
  • We do not offer a meal plan, so you have to provide for yourself.
  • The rooms cost about € 250 (Avant Garde) - € 330 (Teikyo) per month, including wireless internet acccess.
  • The Teikyo rooms are bigger than the Avant Garde rooms.
  • Avant Garde is a 20 minutes’ bicycle ride to the university and a 10 minutes' ride to the city centre; Teikyo a 10 minutes’ walk to either.

We will arrange your accommodation; please do not contact Teikyo or Romaes yourself, for you will end up paying more!

If you do not want Teikyo or Avant Garde, you have to find your own accommodation. One organisation that can help you is the Kamerburo.
